Eden House

Eden House is in Broughton, North Yorkshire. It's on a private estate. You drive past Broughton Hall, up a single track road, and there it is. It's a big, detached house.

It sleeps twelve people. Six bedrooms, three bathrooms. It's got a 4 Star rating, which means it's well-equipped and comfortable. Some rooms are on the ground floor, and there's level access throughout, so it works if you have someone with mobility issues. The stairs are fine, nothing too unusual.

The living room is very large with high ceilings. The kitchen has a big central island and French doors that let in a lot of light. The dining room is furnished traditionally, which is a bit different from the rest of the house, but it seats everyone. There's a quiet reading area off the hall.

Outside, there's a large, flat lawn. There's a wood-fired hot tub sunk into a decked area, it fits about six people. There's a two-storey garage that has been converted. The ground floor is a bar, and upstairs is a games room for kids.

You're free to walk around the estate grounds, which are about 3000 acres. There's a river and some woods with a cycle track. The owners run a Land Rover Experience on the estate if you want to book that.

There's a pub about 500 yards away, through the estate grounds. They do food. The main shops are in Skipton, which is about three and a half miles away. Skipton has a market, a castle, and the canal. Useful links for the area are Yorkshire Dales National Park and English Heritage for Skipton Castle.

For days out, Malham Cove is within a 30 minute drive. It's a big limestone cliff. Gordale Scar is nearby too. You can drive to Grassington, which is a classic Dales village, in about 20 minutes.

Facilities: it has all the main things like a washing machine, dishwasher, and WiFi. Bedding and towels are included. There's a cot, highchair, and stairgate if you need them. You can bring up to two dogs. There's plenty of parking on site.
