The Mill Lodge
The Mill Lodge is in Bell Busk. It's a detached house that used to be the miller's place. It sits right on the edge of the Yorkshire Dales National Park. The River Aire runs at the bottom of the garden. You can hear it if the windows are open.
It sleeps ten. Five bedrooms, four bathrooms. It's got a 5 Star rating, which means it's well kitted out and in good order. It's all on one level except for one bedroom, so it's quite accessible. The main living space is open plan.
You get the garden to yourselves. It's enclosed and there's a patio with a barbecue. The view is over the river and fields. Parking is right there.
For walking, you can start straight from the door. Malham Cove, Gordale Scar, and Janet's Foss are all very close. You can walk across the fields to Coniston Hall for a meal if you don't fancy driving. The local pub is about a mile and a half away.
Skipton is about ten minutes by car. It's a proper market town with a castle, shops, and the train station. The castle is worth a look if you're into that sort of thing. Skipton Castle is an English Heritage site.
If you want to go further, York is under an hour's drive. The Lake District is about the same. You can get a train from Skipton to Leeds if you fancy a city day.
Inside, there's a woodburning stove, a dishwasher, a washing machine, WiFi, and a TV. Bedding and towels are included. There's a cot and a highchair if you need them. No pets, sorry.
