Honey Cottage is in Gargrave, which is right on the edge of the Yorkshire Dales National Park. It's a terraced cottage overlooking one of the village greens. The garden at the front is a proper, old-fashioned cottage garden with seating.
It sleeps four in two double bedrooms. There's one bathroom upstairs with both a bath and a shower. The place was completely redone in 2022, so everything's new and works well. It's got a 5 Star rating, which means it's comfortable and finished to a good standard.
The stairs are standard cottage stairs. Steeper than a modern house, but fine if you take your time.
Downstairs, there's a sitting room with a wood burner, and a kitchen-diner with a table. Through the kitchen there's a utility room with a washing machine and a back door. The cellar has been turned into a little bar area, which is a bit different. It's down some steps, so mind your head.
In the village, you've got a Co-op for food, a couple of cafes, and three pubs. The River Aire and the canal are a two-minute walk away. The Pennine Way footpath goes straight through the village, and you can get on the Settle-Carlisle railway at Gargrave station.
Skipton is about ten minutes away by car or a short train ride. It's a proper market town with a castle, a high street, and boat trips on the canal. For a longer day out, you can get to the Lake District in under an hour. Leeds, Manchester, and the coast at Blackpool are all within an hour and a half's drive.
Facilities: all bedding and towels are included. There's WiFi, a TV, and parking for one car on the street outside. You can bring one dog.
