Duck Cottage

Duck Cottage is in Gargrave, right next to one of the village greens. It sits by the River Aire and you can see the river from the living room, the main bedroom, and the garden.

It sleeps four. Two bedrooms, one with a kingsize bed, the other with twins. There's one bathroom with a shower over the bath. It's got a 4 Star rating, which means it's well looked after and comfortable. It's not huge, but it's got everything you need.

The stairs are fairly standard, but there's a stairgate at the top if you need it. There's an open fire in the living room. The kitchen is open plan and has a dishwasher and a washing machine. Bedding and towels are included.

You can bring one well-behaved dog. There's a small, enclosed patio garden out the back with seating. You can store bikes round the side.

The village shop and a couple of pubs are about a three minute walk away. They're good. You can start a walk right from the door along the river towards Skipton, which is about four miles. Skipton has the castle, a market, and the usual shops.

Embsay Steam Railway is about five miles from here, near Skipton. It's a nice trip up to Bolton Abbey. Malham Cove is about a fifteen minute drive away, it's a proper walk. You're right on the edge of the Yorkshire Dales here, so walking and cycling routes are everywhere. Harrogate, York and the Lakes are all within an hour or so if you fancy a drive.
