Mill Cottage is one of the cottages in the old water mill at Broughton. It looks right out onto the big water wheel, which is still there in the stream.
It sleeps four, two bedrooms. Both have very big double beds. There's one bathroom upstairs. It's got a 4 Star rating. The place has been done up in a retro style. Some people really like it, others think it's a bit much. It's clean and comfortable.
Inside, the main room is a big dining area with a large table. Through the double doors is the living bit with a wood burner. The kitchen is a good size and has everything you need.
Outside, it's a shared cobbled courtyard. There's seating and the stream runs right through. The original mill wheel is there. Peacocks from the estate wander around, which is nice, but they can be noisy.
You have access to the whole Broughton Hall estate, which is 3000 acres. You can walk down through the grounds and see the big hall. You might see deer. There's a Land Rover Experience on site if you want to do that.
Skipton is about three miles away. It's a proper market town with a castle, shops, and a good few places to eat. The Yorkshire Dales are right on the doorstep for walking. There's golf locally, and you can go horse riding nearby.
There's a pub that does food half a mile away. The shop is in Skipton.
Facilities: it has parking right outside. There's wifi, a washing machine, dishwasher, and TV. Bedding and towels are included. We can provide a cot, highchair, and stairgate. We take up to two pets.
