Mill Cottage
Mill Cottage is in the old water mill at Broughton Hall. It's one of a few cottages around a cobbled courtyard. You look out onto the stream and the big old water wheel. Peacocks wander around there, which is nice.
It sleeps four in two bedrooms. Both beds are super king size, which is a bonus. One bathroom. It's got a 4 Star rating. The place has been done up in a retro style, so it's quite bright and colourful inside.
Downstairs there's a big kitchen with everything you need, a dining area, and a living room with a wood burner. The stairs are normal. Outside, you share the courtyard seating with the other cottages. You have the full run of the Broughton Hall estate, which is 3000 acres. You can walk down to see the big house. They do Land Rover experience days from the estate office if that's your thing.
There's a pub and restaurant about half a mile away. The proper shops are in Skipton, which is three miles. Skipton has everything: shops, restaurants, the castle. It's a good base.
The cottage has a washing machine, dishwasher, WiFi, and parking right outside. Bedding and towels are included. We've got a cot and highchair if you need them. You can bring up to two dogs.
If you're looking for things to do, Yorkshire Dales National Park is right on the doorstep. For a big day out, National Trust in Yorkshire has some good options like Bolton Abbey, which is about a 20 minute drive.
