Mill Race is in Broughton, on the edge of the Yorkshire Dales National Park. It's a detached stone cottage, so you're on your own. The garden is a tiered courtyard that looks out over fields.
It sleeps two adults. There's a super king bed downstairs that you can split into twins if you ask. Upstairs is an attic room with two small single beds, so it's really only suitable for children. The stairs up there are quite steep and low, you have to mind your head. One bathroom with a shower.
It's got a 4 Star rating. It's comfortable and well equipped, not luxurious. There's a wood burner, a dishwasher, and a washing machine. WiFi is included. You can bring up to two dogs.
The cottage is on the Broughton Hall estate. You have access to the 3000 acre grounds for walking. There's a walled garden with a bistro about a mile away, and a pub within half a mile.
Skipton is about three miles. It's a proper market town with shops, pubs, and restaurants. Good for stocking up.
From here you're straight into the Dales. For a longer day out, you can drive to the North York Moors in under an hour. Harrogate and the Yorkshire coast are also within about an hour's drive.
If you're bringing bikes, there's storage. There's also on-site parking.
