Mill Race

Mill Race is in Broughton, just outside Skipton. It's a stone cottage, detached, with its own garden. The garden is a terraced courtyard. It looks out over fields.

It sleeps two adults comfortably, but there are technically two bedrooms. The main one is on the ground floor with a super king bed that can be made into twins. The second bedroom is up in the attic. It has twin beds but it's low-ceilinged and really only suitable for children. The stairs up there are quite steep. One bathroom with a shower.

It's got a 4 Star rating. It's clean and comfortable. There's a wood burner in the living room. The kitchen is small but has what you need, including a dishwasher. There's a washing machine and parking.

The cottage is part of the Broughton Estate. You have access to the estate grounds, which are about 3000 acres. You can walk down to see Broughton Hall itself. There's a walled garden from the 14th century with a bistro. The estate also runs Land Rover experience days and has a wellbeing centre called Avalon if that's your sort of thing.

The local pub and restaurant is about half a mile away. The nearest shop is in Skipton, which is three miles. Skipton is a proper market town with shops, restaurants, and a castle. It's a good base.

You're right on the edge of the Yorkshire Dales National Park. Lots of walking and cycling straight from the door. The Tour de France and Tour de Yorkshire routes have come through here. If you want a change, the Yorkshire coast or the Lake District are both about an hour and a half's drive.

You can bring up to two dogs. We provide bedding and towels. There's a cot and highchair if you need them.
