The White Cottage

The White Cottage is on the Main Street in Gargrave. It's a detached stone cottage. It used to be a tea shop, then we did it up. It was all finished in 2020, so everything's fairly new.

It sleeps four. Two bedrooms upstairs and one bathroom. One bedroom can be a twin or a double. The rating is 4 Star, which is about right. It's comfortable and clean.

The main thing inside is the wood burner. It's a big one and it heats the whole place easily. The kitchen has what you need. There's a dishwasher and a washing machine.

The stairs are worth mentioning. They're the original cottage stairs, so they're curved and a bit steep. There's a stairgate at the top.

Outside is a small courtyard. There's a butler sink out there, which is handy for cleaning off muddy boots or dogs. You can store bikes in the entrance hall.

Location is the main point. You're about five minutes' walk from the river and the canal. The village has a couple of pubs that do food, a small supermarket, a post office and a cafe. Skipton is about four miles away for bigger shops.

You're right on the edge of the Yorkshire Dales. Malham Cove and the limestone pavement are a short drive away, maybe 15 minutes. Settle and Grassington are within half an hour. You can get the train from Gargrave station into Leeds if you fancy a city day.

You can bring up to two dogs. The entrance is step-free and there's a walk-in shower, but the bedrooms and bathroom are upstairs, so it's not fully wheelchair accessible.
