The White Cottage is in Gargrave, just across from the village green. It's a little, detached place we did up a few years back. It used to be a tea shop.
It sleeps four. There are two bedrooms upstairs. You can have one as a twin or a double, just let us know. There's one bathroom with a walk-in shower.
The main room has a big wood burner. It really heats the place. The kitchen has the basics. There's a dishwasher and a washing machine.
The stairs are a curved cottage staircase. They're fine, but mind your head on the beam at the top. The front door is level, so it's okay for wheelchairs to get in.
Outside is a small courtyard. It's got a butler's sink, which is handy for cleaning boots or muddy dogs. You can bring two dogs.
You're five minutes' walk from the river and the canal. The village has a shop, a couple of pubs that do food, and a cafe. The train station is here too, which is useful.
Skipton is ten minutes down the road by car. It's a proper market town with a castle. From here, you're right on the edge of the Yorkshire Dales National Park. Malham Cove is about fifteen minutes' drive. Settle and Grassington are within half an hour. For a longer day out, you can get to the National Trust places like Brimham Rocks or Fountains Abbey in under an hour.
It's got a 4 Star rating. That means it's comfortable and finished to a good standard. Bedding and towels are included. There's WiFi and parking for one car on the street outside.
