Chestnut Cottage is in Hellifield, on the edge of the Yorkshire Dales. It's a one bedroom cottage, just for two. It's got a 4 Star rating, which means it's comfortable and well finished.
You've got one bedroom with a double bed and one bathroom upstairs. The stairs are quite steep, which is normal for here. There's also a step at the top of the stairs into the bedroom, so just watch your footing.
Downstairs, there's a living room with a wood burning stove. We leave you some logs to start you off. The kitchen is small but has what you need, including a dishwasher and a washing machine. There's a little shared courtyard out the back with a bench. It's fine for a morning coffee. There's a shed for bikes or walking boots.
Hellifield itself is quiet. There's a shop about a hundred yards away, and a couple of pubs. The train station is useful if you don't want to drive everywhere.
For walking, you can start right from the door into the Dales. The Forest of Bowland is on the other side, maybe a fifteen minute drive. Settle is close, and Skipton's about eleven miles away if you need a bigger town.
If you're planning days out, these sites are good for maps and ideas: Yorkshire Dales National Park and Forest of Bowland AONB.
Facilities: all the bedding and towels are included. There's WiFi and a TV. No pets, sorry.
