The Dalesbred Hut is a shepherd's hut on our farm in Rathmell. It's for two people. One room, really, but it's open plan with a separate bathroom. It's well insulated and has a woodburner, so it's cosy even in winter.
It's 4 Star, which means it's a high standard. Everything's clean and works properly. The wet room shower is good. You get bedding and towels.
The hut is up our private lane, so it feels secluded. You look out over our fields. There's a table and chairs outside. Parking for two cars is right there.
We're a working sheep and beef farm. You'll see us going about our jobs. The Ribble Way footpath runs along the edge of the land if you want to walk straight from the door.
Settle is about ten minutes by car. It's a proper market town with shops and places to eat. Skipton is maybe twenty-five minutes. From there, you can get the train into Leeds if you wanted.
You're right on the edge of the Yorkshire Dales National Park. The Three Peaks, Malham Cove, and Ribblehead Viaduct are all within half an hour's drive. Gisburn Forest is good for mountain biking.
In terms of what's here, there's WiFi, a TV, a barbecue, and bike storage. We can provide a cot and highchair. No pets, I'm afraid, because of the livestock.
If you're coming with more people, we have two other huts nearby. You can book them all together.
