Low Fold Cottage
Low Fold Cottage is in Langcliffe, a small village just outside Settle. It's semi-detached, on the edge of the village with fields behind it. The garden is enclosed, which is good if you have dogs or kids.
The cottage sleeps five. There are three bedrooms and one bathroom upstairs. It's a 3 Star place, so it's comfortable and clean but not new or fancy. The ceilings are low in a couple of spots, so mind your head if you're tall. The stairs are fairly steep, like most cottages round here.
Langcliffe itself is quiet. There's a village green and a church. For a pub or a shop, you need to go into Settle, which is about a mile away. Settle has a few good pubs, a small supermarket, and a swimming pool. The swimming pool is a proper old-fashioned one, it's quite nice.
The main thing here is the walking. You can step out the door and be on a footpath straight into the hills. Malham Cove and Gordale Scar are about a 15 minute drive. You're right on the edge of the Yorkshire Dales National Park.
The Settle to Carlisle railway line runs nearby. You can hear the trains sometimes, but it's not constant. The station in Settle is useful if you want a day out without driving.
For facilities: there's a washing machine, dishwasher, WiFi, and parking for one car out the front. Bedding and towels are included. We allow up to two well-behaved dogs. There's a cot and a highchair in the cupboard under the stairs if you need them.
