The Swaledale Hut is a shepherds hut on our farm in Rathmell. It's one of three we have up there. It's detached and there's good space between them so it's private.
It sleeps four and has two bedrooms. One has a double bed, the other has bunk beds. There's one bathroom with a walk-in shower. Everything is on the ground floor. It's open plan, so the living area and kitchen are all one room.
The hut is up a private lane, so it's quiet. You get your own bit of garden with a table and chairs. The view is over our fields towards the Dales. You see sheep. We're a working farm, so sometimes you'll hear or see the usual farm stuff during the day.
Rathmell is a small village. There's a local pub a walk away. Settle is about a ten minute drive, Skipton is maybe twenty five. You're right on the edge of the Yorkshire Dales National Park. The Ribble Way footpath goes past the farm gate if you want to walk straight from the door.
Within half an hour you've got Malham Cove, the Three Peaks area, Bolton Abbey, and Gisburn Forest. Ribblehead Viaduct is close too.
Facilities: there's WiFi and a TV. Parking for two cars. Bedding and towels are included. We have a cot and a highchair if you need them. You can bring one dog. There's a BBQ you can use.
The other two huts, Wensleydale and Dalesbred, are the same style. You can book them together if you're a bigger group.
