Holme House
Holme House is in Eldroth. It's attached to our house but you have your own entrance and complete privacy. The garden is all yours.
It sleeps six. There are three bedrooms, one is a super king that can be split into singles. Two bathrooms, one has a bath and the other has a big walk-in shower. That shower is good, lots of pressure. The rating is 5 Star, so it's well equipped and all your bedding and towels are included.
The stairs are cottage stairs. They're not a ladder but they are steeper than a normal house. The kitchen is big and has a table everyone can fit around. The living room has a wood burner. We leave you some logs to start you off.
You're down a private track, so it's quiet. You'll hear sheep and birds. The garden is large and enclosed, with a patio and a lawn. There's a little play area for kids with a slide and a climbing frame.
Eldroth is a small village. Settle is the nearest proper town, about ten minutes by car. It's got shops, pubs, and a station on the famous Settle-Carlisle railway line.
You're on the edge of the Yorkshire Dales National Park. Good walking straight from the door. The Yorkshire Three Peaks are close if you're up for a challenge. The Forest of Bowland is about a twenty minute drive. The coast at Morecambe Bay is roughly half an hour.
Further afield, you can get to Lancaster, the Lake District, or Skipton within forty-five minutes. York is about an hour and a half.
Facilities: there's a washing machine, dishwasher, WiFi, and parking for three cars. We've got a cot, highchair, and stairgate if you need them. No pets, sorry.
