Spoutscroft Cottage is in Austwick in the Yorkshire Dales. It's a proper old cottage from the 1700s.
It sleeps four. Two bedrooms, two bathrooms. The rating is 4 Star. It's cosy and feels homely but it's not posh.
The village is quiet. There's a village shop and a pub that does food about half a mile away. The pub is good. Settle is five miles for bigger shops.
The cottage is stone-built with a flagged floor downstairs. The stairs are steep, like old cottages have. There's an open fire in the living room. You get a front garden with a patio and a back seating area that looks straight onto fields.
You're right in the Yorkshire Dales National Park. You can walk straight from the door. If you're up for it, the Three Peaks are on your doorstep. For cycling, you're on a National Cycle Route and Gisburn Forest is about 12 miles away for mountain biking.
Ingleton is seven miles. They've got the waterfalls and an outdoor pool. The Lake District is about half an hour's drive to Kendal.
We allow one well-behaved dog. There's a washing machine, dishwasher, WiFi, and a cot and highchair if you need them. Bedding and towels are included. There's bike storage.
