Langcliffe Lock Cottage
This is Langcliffe Lock Cottage. It's in Langcliffe, near Settle in the Yorkshire Dales. A four star place, sleeps four in two bedrooms. One bathroom.
It's an old mill worker's cottage, part of a small terrace built in the 1780s. We've kept the stonework and beams but made it comfortable to live in now. It's at the end of a country lane, right by a stream and an old mill pond. Very quiet.
The road outside is cobbled. The stairs are steep, like in most old cottages. There's a wood burning stove for cooler evenings. The garden is enclosed, which is handy if you're bringing dogs. You can have two pets.
Settle is about a mile away. Good for a pint, a meal, or shopping. There's a market, a golf course, and a swimming pool there too.
You can walk straight from the door. The Three Peaks are on the doorstep if that's your thing. For driving, you can get into the heart of the Dales easily, or over to the Lake District in under an hour.
It's got parking, WiFi, a washing machine, and TV. Bedding and towels are included.
If you want to plan walks, the Yorkshire Dales National Park site is useful. For wider trips, English Heritage has local properties like nearby Bolton Abbey.
