The Wensleydale

The Wensleydale is a shepherds hut on our farm in Rathmell. It looks out over the fields where our sheep are. It's just the one hut on its own, so it's quiet.

It sleeps four. There's a proper double bed in one room and bunk beds in the other. The bathroom has a walk-in shower. It's all open plan inside, so it's one space for the living and kitchen area. Everything is new and it's got a 4 Star rating. It is warm.

You get your own bit of garden outside with a table and chairs. There's parking for two cars right by it.

The hut is right on the Ribble Way footpath, so you can walk straight from the door. The views from here are of the Dales and you can see the Three Peaks in the distance.

Settle is about ten minutes away by car. It's a nice market town. Skipton is maybe twenty-five minutes. Both have shops and places to eat.

You're well placed for getting out. The Yorkshire Dales National Park starts here. Malham Cove and Gordale Scar are within half an hour. So is the Ribblehead Viaduct. Gisburn Forest is good for mountain biking if you're into that.

Facilities: all the bedding and towels are here. There's a TV and WiFi. We've got a highchair and a cot you can use. There's a BBQ outside. No pets, I'm afraid, because of the farm.

If you're looking for more information on the area, the Yorkshire Dales National Park site is useful. So is the National Trust page for Yorkshire.
