Summerfield Bungalow
Summerfield Bungalow is in Mere Syke near Clapham. It's a detached bungalow, so all one level. It's next to our house, but it's completely private.
It sleeps four, with two bedrooms and one bathroom. It's got a 4 Star rating. It's been done up well, so it's comfortable. There's underfloor heating and a woodburning stove for cooler days. The shower is a walk-in one.
You can walk straight out from the door onto the fells. The owner's a walker, so there are maps and some local tips in the bungalow. The Yorkshire Dales National Park starts pretty much here. The Forest of Bowland is also close.
Settle is about seven miles away. It's a proper market town with a few shops and places to eat. The Settle to Carlisle railway goes from there. You can drive to the Ribblehead Viaduct to see it, or get the train for the view.
Skipton and Clitheroe are each about fourteen miles, if you need bigger supermarkets or more shops. The Three Peaks area is within a thirty minute drive if that's what you're here for. The Lake District is about an hour and a quarter to Windermere.
Facilities: there's a dishwasher, washing machine, WiFi, and TV. Bedding and towels are included. The garden is enclosed. You can bring one dog. There's parking right outside.
