Acre Hill Cottage is at Harrop Fold, in Lancashire. It's a single storey cottage, so everything is on one level. It's detached and sits on its own. The views are across fields.
It sleeps four, but that's in one bedroom and a sofa bed in the living area. There's one bathroom with a shower. It's got a 4 Star rating. It was refurbished a few years ago, so it's in good order.
The living room has a wood burner. There's a TV and WiFi. The main bedroom has patio doors that go straight out into the garden. The garden is enclosed, which is good if you have dogs. It's private. There's a patio and a barbecue.
You're right in the Forest of Bowland, which is an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. It's quiet. The lanes are narrow and winding, which is part of the charm. There's storage for bikes if you bring them.
The village of Bolton-by-Bowland is about three miles away. It's got a pub. Other villages like Slaidburn and Downham are within 15 minutes drive, and they all have pubs too. Clitheroe is the nearest proper town, about seven miles. It's got shops, a castle, cafes, that sort of thing.
For walking, you're spoilt for choice. Gisburn Forest is close by for trails and mountain biking. Stocks Reservoir is there for fishing. Pendle Hill is about 20 minutes away if you want that history. The Yorkshire Dales National Park is under half an hour's drive.
Facilities: parking right outside, bedding and towels are included, there's a washing machine. Dogs are welcome, up to four. It's a no-smoking property.
