Woodpecker Cottage
Woodpecker Cottage is one of two cottages here. It was a barn. It sleeps four across two bedrooms, and both bedrooms have their own bathrooms. That's handy. It's got a 4 Star rating, so it's comfortable.
The cottage is on our farm, near Holden. It's a quiet spot. You'll see fields and trees. The garden is enclosed, which is good if you bring a dog. We allow one well-behaved pet.
Inside, it's got a woodburning stove for cool evenings. There's a dishwasher and a washing machine. WiFi works. There's parking right outside.
The location is the main thing. You're right in the Forest of Bowland. You can walk straight from the door. The Forest of Bowland website has maps and ideas. Bolton-by-Bowland village is a mile away. It has a pub.
Clitheroe is about ten minutes away by car. It's a proper market town with a castle, shops, and places to eat. For cycling, Gisburn Forest trails are very close.
You can get to Pendle Hill in maybe 20 minutes. The Yorkshire Dales aren't far either. Skipton is about half an hour's drive. The Lake District is under an hour if you fancy a longer day out.
If you need more space, you can book the cottage next door as well. They're semi-detached, so you'd have the pair.
