Higher Paradise is an old barn conversion near Horton, Lancashire. It's detached and you're on your own down a half-mile farm track. The views over the Ribble Valley and towards Pendle Hill are really quite something.
It sleeps ten people. There are five bedrooms and three bathrooms, one of which is a wet room on the ground floor. It's got a 4 Star rating. It's comfortable and well-equipped, not just an empty shell.
Because it's a conversion from the 1800s, it has its original stonework, beams and some flagged floors. The stairs are steep in parts, which is normal for a place like this. There's a woodburning stove in the main living area, which is open plan.
Outside, there's a patio and garden area. There's also a separate games room with a pool table and table football, which is useful if the weather turns.
You're quite remote here. The nearest shop and pub are about three miles away in the village. You can walk or ride straight from the door, as there's a public footpath and bridleway right next to the property.
For days out, you're well placed. The Forest of Bowland is on the doorstep. Skipton is about a twenty minute drive. The Yorkshire Dales are easily accessible, and the Pendle Hill area is close by for walking. Blackpool and the Lake District are a bit further, maybe an hour or so depending on traffic.
Facilities include a dishwasher, washing machine, TV, and WiFi. Bedding and towels are included. We can provide a cot and highchair. There's plenty of parking on site. Sorry, no pets.
