Narrowgates Cottage is in Barley, on a quiet cobbled street. It's a weaver's cottage from the 1700s, so the walls are thick and the layout is what you'd expect for that age. It's been updated inside.
It sleeps four, in three bedrooms. There's one bathroom. It's got a 5 Star rating, which means it's finished to a high standard. The garden is up a few steps at the back. It's enclosed and looks out over a couple of acres of natural land.
Inside, you've got a wood burner in the living room. The kitchen has an Aga. The floors are original quarry tiles in parts, so they can be a bit uneven. It comes with a cot, highchair, and stairgate if you need them. There's parking.
Barley has two pubs within a few minutes' walk. One does food. There's a village shop for basics, but for a proper supermarket you'd drive to Clitheroe, which is about eight miles.
You're right on the edge of the Forest of Bowland. Pendle Hill is basically on the doorstep. It's a popular walk, and of course there's the witch history. For cycling, you can start from the cottage. There's bike storage.
Within half an hour you can get to Clitheroe with its castle and shops, or out into the Yorkshire Dales National Park. The coast at Morecambe Bay is about 45 minutes away.
The property allows up to two dogs.
