The Barn
The Barn is in Wiswell, in the Ribble Valley. It's part of a pair of cottages, semi-detached from Bramble Cottage. We're on a working sheep farm, about 170 acres. The views from the cottage are across our fields.
It sleeps six. Three bedrooms, two bathrooms, which is handy. It's a 4 Star place. It's a proper conversion from an old barn, so the rooms feel solid. It's open plan downstairs.
You're on the edge of the Forest of Bowland. There are walks straight from the door, and you're on a bridle path if you ride. We have stabling on the farm if you need it. The area's good for cycling too.
Whalley village is about two miles away. There's a shop, a few pubs and restaurants there. It's a nice spot with an old abbey. Clitheroe isn't far either, you can see the castle from miles off.
For a day out, Bowland Wild Boar Park is popular with kids. The Brockholes Nature Reserve is good for a walk. If you're into history, there's the Roman museum at Ribchester. Gawthorpe Hall is a National Trust place, about a 20 minute drive.
The facilities are what you'd need. Washing machine, dishwasher, WiFi. Bedding and towels are included. There's a BBQ out the back, and parking right outside. We can provide a cot and highchair. No pets, I'm afraid, because of the farm.
