The View is one of two lodges set around three lakes near Barrow, in Lancashire. It's on the Pendle View Holiday Park at the base of Pendle Hill. The lodges were new in 2022.
It sleeps six people in three bedrooms and has two bathrooms. It's a 4 Star property. Everything is open plan inside. You get a dishwasher, a washing machine, and WiFi. Bedding and towels are included. There's parking right by the lodge.
The main thing is the view. You look straight out over the lakes towards Pendle Hill. You have your own decking area at the front with a rattan sofa set, and a picnic table out the back. There's a storage box that will fit a few bikes.
Because the site used to be a fishery, you have exclusive fishing rights on the lakes during your stay. You can also just walk around them.
It's a quiet spot, set back from the A59 road. There are a few places to eat and a Co-op supermarket directly opposite the park entrance. The villages of Barrow and Whalley are about a mile away. Whalley has an abbey, shops, and pubs. Clitheroe is two miles away. It's a market town with a castle and good independent shops.
For walking, you're at the foot of Pendle Hill. The Forest of Bowland Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty is very close. Preston city centre is about half an hour's drive one way. Going the other way, you can reach Skipton and the edge of the Yorkshire Dales National Park in a similar time.
Further out, you can get to the Fylde Coast, including Blackpool, in about 45 minutes. The Lake District is within an hour's drive.
You can bring up to two dogs. The other lodge, Lake View, can be booked together with this one if you're a larger group.
