Bramble Cottage

Bramble Cottage is here in Wiswell, on our sheep farm. It’s a semi-detached place, converted from a barn. The views from the back are over our fields, about 170 acres. It’s part of the Forest of Bowland Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.

It sleeps six. There are three bedrooms and one bathroom. It’s got a 4 Star rating. It’s comfortable and clean. The stairs are solid but they’re original, so they turn sharply and are a bit steep.

You’re right on a bridle path here. You can walk straight out from the door. We’ve got bicycle storage if you bring bikes. It’s a working farm, so you’ll see sheep and sometimes hear us about. There’s parking right by the cottage.

For facilities, there’s a washing machine, a dishwasher, and a woodburning stove for the colder months. We include all bedding and towels. There’s a cot and a highchair if you need them. One well-behaved dog is welcome. There’s a BBQ outside.

The village of Whalley is about two miles away. It’s got a few shops, cafes and pubs. The nearest pub that does food is about two miles. Gawthorpe Hall is nearby, and Clitheroe with its castle is a short drive. For a day out, Brockholes Nature Reserve is good, especially with children.

You’re well placed for driving. The Yorkshire Dales and the Lake District are both under an hour away if you fancy a longer trip.
