Hen House

This is the Hen House in Barley, Lancashire. It's one of two semi-detached cottages we built in 2020 next to the old farm buildings. It's got stone and slate on the outside to match.

It sleeps six. Three bedrooms, two bathrooms. It's a 4 Star place, which means it's comfortable and well-finished. Everything's relatively new, so it works as it should.

You're right at the bottom of Pendle Hill. The village of Barley is small. There are two pubs and a restaurant you can walk to. The shop is in the next village, about three miles away.

The whole area is part of the Forest of Bowland. It's good for walking straight from the door. People come here to climb Pendle Hill or follow the sculpture trail. You'll see a lot about the Pendle witches.

If you drive, you can be in Clitheroe or Skipton in about 20 minutes. Both have castles and markets. The Yorkshire Dales and the Lancashire coast are within an hour. The Lakes are a bit further.

Inside, it's open plan downstairs. There's a kitchen with a dishwasher and washing machine. The garden is enclosed. There's parking for two cars on the drive.

You can bring two dogs. We include bedding and towels. There's a cot and highchair if you need them.

For more on the area, the Forest of Bowland site is useful, and the Visit Lancashire page covers wider things to do.
