Swaledale Cottage is part of Barley Green Mill, near Barley village. It's a detached stone cottage, so it's just you and the wall next door. It looks right out onto fields and the base of Pendle Hill.
It sleeps two. One bedroom, one bathroom – it's all on the ground floor, no stairs to worry about. The bedroom has the shower room attached. It's got a 4 Star rating, so it's comfortable and well looked after.
Barley village is a two minute walk. There are two pubs and a cafe. They're good. You can sit by the reservoirs for a picnic. The area is the Forest of Bowland, an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.
If you're walking, you can go straight up Pendle Hill from the doorstep. The steps are a proper climb. There are gentler walks around the Ogden reservoirs and a sculpture trail through the woods. For cycling, Gisburn Forest is about a 20 minute drive and has marked trails.
Clitheroe is 8 miles away. It's a market town with shops. Holmes Mill there has a long bar and a food hall. For a bigger day out, the Yorkshire Dales and the Lake District are both within an hour's drive.
The cottage has a dishwasher, TV, WiFi, and parking right outside. Bedding and towels are included. No pets.
