Harans Vardo Altham

Harans Vardo is a Romany-style wagon we've got in a field in Altham, near Accrington. It's a proper glamping set up for two people, and you can bring one dog.

The Vardo itself has a double bed in it. There's a single bed in there too, tucked at the end, but the headroom is very low; it's fine for a child but adults will struggle. It's got a little wood burner with a kettle on top. There's a small kitchenette inside for basics. Honestly, it's best for making sandwiches or heating soup. For proper cooking, you use the stone pizza oven outside in your private patio area.

About twenty feet away is your own private hut. That's where the shower is. It's gas-heated and works fine. The toilet in there is a compost loo. It does the job.

It's a 4 Star rated spot, which means it's comfortable and well-equipped for what it is. It's not a hotel room. You're here for the experience of being in the wagon. Bedding and towels are included.

The location is quiet. You're in a field. There's a village pub about three quarters of a mile away. Shops and takeaways are a short drive in Accrington.

For getting out, you're well placed. Pendle Hill is about a 25 minute drive. The Forest of Bowland is maybe 30 minutes. You can get into the Yorkshire Dales National Park near Skipton in under an hour. Preston city centre is about 40 minutes the other way.
