Shire Nook is a mid-terrace cottage in Hurst Green. It's a village in Lancashire, right next to the Forest of Bowland. It sleeps three people. There are two bedrooms and one bathroom.
The cottage has a 4 Star rating. It's comfortable. The entrance is wheelchair accessible, which is good if you need it. There's a woodburning stove for colder nights. The garden is a small patio area out the back.
You're allowed to bring one dog. Bedding and towels are included. There's a washing machine, WiFi, and a TV.
Hurst Green itself is quiet. Stonyhurst College is just around the corner. J.R.R. Tolkien stayed there while writing. You can see it from the village.
There are two pubs within walking distance, The Bayley Arms and The Shireburn. For food, the area is known for it. Northcote restaurant and The Inn at Whitewell are a short drive away. Clitheroe is close, where Holmes Mill has a long bar and a food hall.
It's a good spot for walking and cycling. You can walk into the Forest of Bowland from here. For cycling, Gisburn Forest has trails about twenty minutes away by car.
Within half an hour you can get to Clitheroe, the Bowland Wild Boar Park, or Whalley with its abbey arches. The coast at Lytham St. Annes or Blackpool is also about thirty minutes' drive. The Yorkshire Dales are north, maybe forty-five minutes if the traffic is light.
