Baillies Retreat is a bungalow on the edge of Chapel St Leonards. It’s one of two side-by-side. You get your own garden, which is just a patio with a fence, but it’s private. Inside, it sleeps six people. Three bedrooms, one bathroom. It’s got a 4 Star rating, so it’s well equipped and tidy.
The village centre is about a mile down the road. There’s a Co-op for food and a couple of pubs that do meals. The beach is about the same distance, a mile away. It’s that classic wide, flat Lincolnshire sand. Good for a walk or letting the kids run about.
For a bigger day out, Skegness is ten minutes up the coast. All the usual stuff is there: arcades, the pier, amusements. Fantasy Island is just a few miles down the road. Butlins in Skegness is about three miles away if that’s your sort of thing.
If you want a quieter time, the Lincolnshire Wolds are inland. It’s nice countryside for a drive or a walk. You can get to Gunby Hall, which is National Trust, in under half an hour. The Gibraltar Point nature reserve near Skegness is good for birdwatching too.
What’s here at the bungalow: parking right outside, a TV, a washing machine. Bedding and towels are included. There’s a shower but no bath. The garden has furniture. No pets allowed, sorry. The local area has a golf course and fishing lakes if you’re interested.
