The Old Cheese Loft is here on our farm, near Lochans in Dumfriesshire. It's about three miles from Portpatrick. It's the old cheese-making loft converted into a house. You'll hear and see the farm, but it's separate and private.
It sleeps five. Three bedrooms upstairs, two bathrooms (one shower room downstairs, one family bathroom up). It's a 4 Star place, so it's comfortable and well-equipped. The stairs are the original farm building stairs, so they're a bit steep and turn a corner.
You're on a working farm. There are cattle in the fields, tractors going past sometimes. It's peaceful, but it's a real farm, not a quiet one. If you like seeing that, it's good. The garden is yours to use.
Portpatrick is a ten minute drive. Nice harbour, a few places to eat. Good for a walk. Stranraer is about fifteen minutes the other way for bigger shops. The coast path is accessible from Portpatrick.
The Mull of Galloway is about forty minutes' drive south. It's the southernmost point in Scotland, good for a dramatic walk. Galloway Forest Park is inland, maybe half an hour to the edge. Good for darker skies if you're into that.
Inside, there's a washing machine, dishwasher, WiFi, TV. Bedding and towels are included. There's a highchair if you need one. Parking is right outside. No pets, sorry, because of the farm.
