2 Mote View is in Sandhead. A new build, from 2021. It's a semi-detached bungalow, all on one level. The garden is enclosed, so it's fine for dogs and kids.
It sleeps six. Three bedrooms, two bathrooms. One of the bathrooms is an en-suite. It's got a 5 Star rating, which means it's well finished and comfortable. Everything works and it's clean.
The beach is about two minutes’ walk. It's long and sandy. The village has a pub that does food, a restaurant, and a small shop for basics.
Portpatrick is a short drive up the coast. It's a nice little harbour village. Good for a walk and a coffee. You can pick up part of the Southern Upland Way from there.
Further afield, The Mull of Galloway is worth the trip. It's the most southerly point in Scotland. The views are very good on a clear day. You might see seals. The RSPB have a site there: RSPB Mull of Galloway.
If you like gardens, Logan Botanic Garden is about twenty minutes away. It's run by the Royal Botanic Garden Edinburgh: Logan Botanic Garden. Castle Kennedy Gardens are also nearby.
For walking, the Galloway Forest Park is about a forty-minute drive. It's a Dark Sky Park, so good for stargazing if you get a clear night. More information is here: Forestry and Land Scotland.
Facilities wise: there's a washing machine, a cot and highchair if needed, bedding and towels are included. There's parking on the drive. Wi-Fi and Smart TVs in the rooms. Two well-behaved pets are welcome.
