Chestnut Lodge is a big detached house near Portpatrick. It sleeps sixteen, which is unusual. Seven bedrooms, five bathrooms. That's why groups like it. It's got a 4 Star rating.
It's in a field by itself, a short walk from the village. The living area is upstairs. There's a big deck up there with a view of the sea. You can see Portpatrick harbour from it.
It's about a fifteen minute walk down to a sandy beach. The coast path is right there. The area is good for walking, from easy stuff to proper hikes. The Logan Botanic Garden is worth a trip if you like gardens.
You're on the Rhins peninsula. The Galloway Forest Park is about a thirty minute drive. That's where the 7Stanes mountain bike trails are. It's also a Dark Sky Park, so good for stargazing on a clear night.
Portpatrick has a couple of pubs and places to eat. The harbour is nice for a wander. There's golf nearby at Dunskey.
Facilities: it's got a woodburning stove, dishwasher, washing machine, WiFi, and parking for several cars. Bedding and towels are included. There's a cot and highchair. You can bring up to two dogs.
