The Byre
The Byre is a barn conversion on our working farm just outside Stranraer. It's semi-detached. You're on the farm, but the town centre is only about a mile away if you need a shop.
It sleeps six. Three bedrooms, two bathrooms, one is on the ground floor. It's got a 5 Star rating, so everything should be in good order. The patio and garden are yours, and it's enclosed. There's a hot tub out there.
You're in Dumfries and Galloway. The coast is rugged here. There are sandy beaches about a mile and a half away. It's good for walking. The Southern Upland Way passes close by. If you're into cycling, the 7stanes mountain biking trails aren't far.
Stranraer has your usual shops and places to eat. There's a local pub about a mile from the cottage. The golf course is a short drive. Further along the coast, places like Portpatrick and Sandhead are pretty. The RSPB reserve at the Mull of Galloway is about a 30 minute drive if you like seabirds. Logan Botanic Garden is also within half an hour.
The ferry to Ireland goes from Cairnryan, which is about a ten minute drive from the cottage. That's handy for a day trip.
Facilities: there's a washing machine, dishwasher, WiFi, and TV. Bedding and towels are included. There's on-site parking and space for bikes. No pets, sorry.
