The Byre is a barn conversion on our working farm near Stranraer. It's semi-detached, so you'll have neighbours in the other half, but your garden and hot tub are private. It's about a mile from the town centre, so you can walk in if you want.
It sleeps six, with three bedrooms and two bathrooms. The rating is 5 Star, which means it's well kitted out and comfortable. The living area is open plan. Because it's a converted barn, the ceilings are quite high and the rooms feel spacious.
You're on a farm, so you'll see cattle and sheep in the fields. There might be some farm noise during the day. The garden is enclosed, which is handy.
Stranraer has shops, pubs, and places to eat. The closest beach is about a mile and a half away. For a good walk, the Southern Upland Way passes nearby. If you're a golfer, the Stranraer course is just down the road.
Within a half hour drive, you can get to Portpatrick, which is a pretty little fishing port. The RSPB reserve at the Mull of Galloway is about 40 minutes away. The Logan Botanical Gardens are worth a visit too. If you fancied a day trip to Northern Ireland, the ferry to Belfast goes from Cairnryan, which is just a ten minute drive from here.
Facilities include the hot tub, a washing machine, dishwasher, and WiFi. Bedding and towels are provided. There's parking right outside. We can't take pets, sorry.
