Kinvara is a detached villa on the edge of Stranraer. It’s in a quiet spot, but you’re only ten minutes’ walk from the harbour and the town centre.
It sleeps eight people. Four bedrooms, three bathrooms. It has a 4 Star rating. It’s spacious and functional, really. There’s a games room downstairs, which is handy if the weather turns. The place is wheelchair accessible, with a wet room on the ground floor and grab rails fitted.
The garden is enclosed, so it’s secure. There’s parking for two cars on the drive.
The town has a few pubs and restaurants. The ferry to Northern Ireland doesn’t run from here anymore, but the harbour is still a nice walk. If you like fishing, there are local spots.
Within about half an hour’s drive, you’ve got a few things. Portpatrick is a nice little seaside village. The Logan Botanic Garden is worth a visit if you like gardens. The Mull of Galloway is the southernmost point in Scotland, with a lighthouse and good views on a clear day. The Southern Upland Way long-distance path starts nearby if you’re up for a long walk.
Facilities: you’ve got Wi-Fi, a washing machine, dishwasher, TV. Bedding and towels are included. There’s a cot, highchair, and stairgate if you need them. There’s bicycle storage. No pets allowed.
