Kinvara is our house in Stranraer. It's detached and in a quiet bit on the edge of town. It's a four star place, which means it's got everything you need and is well looked after. It sleeps eight. There are four bedrooms and three bathrooms, one of which is a wet room on the ground floor.
The stairs are fine. The front door is wide and there are grab rails in the wet room and a seat in the shower, so it suits people with limited mobility.
You've got your own garden, which is enclosed. There's parking on the drive. Inside, there's a separate games room with a pool table and a football table.
Stranraer itself is a working harbour town. The ferry to Northern Ireland doesn't run from here anymore, but it's still a busy place. The harbour is a ten minute walk away. There are a few pubs and places to eat in town. The local golf course is about a five minute drive.
If you want to get out, Portpatrick is a nice little harbour village about fifteen minutes by car. The Southern Upland Way starts there if you like long walks. The Mull of Galloway is the southernmost point in Scotland. The views from the lighthouse are something else. You can see a few different countries on a clear day.
The Logan Botanic Garden is about half an hour away. It's run by the Royal Botanic Garden Edinburgh and is full of subtropical plants you wouldn't expect to find here.
For facilities: there's WiFi, a washing machine, dishwasher, and TV. We provide bedding and towels. We can provide a cot, highchair, and stairgate. There's bike storage if you bring them. Sorry, no pets.
