Home Farm
Home Farm is on our working dairy farm just outside Dunragit. It's a modern house that sleeps eight, so it's a good size. There are four bedrooms and two bathrooms.
It's got a 4 Star rating. That means it's well equipped and comfortable. The kitchen has a dishwasher and there's a washing machine. There's a pool table in the games room. Outside, there's a private hot tub on the patio.
You're on a farm, so you'll see cows. The view from the back is over our fields towards the hills. It's quiet, but you'll hear farm sounds sometimes.
The closest shop is about two miles away. There's a pub three miles away and a restaurant four miles. Stranraer is six miles away for bigger supermarkets and more places to eat.
If you like fishing, there's brown trout fishing on our stretch of the river on the neighbouring farm. It's available for guests. You'll need a permit.
For beaches, Sandhead is about a fifteen minute drive. Portpatrick is a bit further, maybe twenty five minutes. It's a nice little harbour town. The RSPB Mull of Galloway is down that way too.
For walking, the Southern Upland Way passes close by. The Galloway Forest Park is within half an hour for bike trails and more walking. Forestry and Land Scotland has maps and details.
The ferry to Ireland runs from Cairnryan, which is about ten minutes away by car.
One well behaved dog is welcome. Bedding and towels are included. There's plenty of parking right by the house.
