Kelbrook
Kelbrook is a farmhouse near Glenluce. It's detached and quite big, sleeps twelve. Five bedrooms, three bathrooms. It's got a 4 Star rating, which is good. It's clean and comfortable, not just basic.
The main thing is the space and the view. It's very quiet, just fields and hills out of the windows. The garden has a covered pool table, which is handy if it rains. The garden is enclosed.
Inside, there's a woodburning stove, which is nice in the evenings. There's a washing machine, dishwasher, WiFi, and TV. Bedding and towels are included. Parking is right there.
You can bring up to two dogs. We can also provide a highchair.
Glenluce village is about two miles away. There's a shop and a pub there. The pub does food. There's a restaurant about three miles away. For a bigger supermarket, you'd go to Stranraer. That's about ten miles.
The coast is close, maybe two miles to the nearest beach. The coastline here is rugged, good for cliff walks. The water is a bit warmer than you'd think because of the Gulf Stream. There are some lovely little ports like Portpatrick.
The Galloway Forest Park is nearby. It's great for walking and has mountain biking trails. It's also a Dark Sky Park, so if it's clear at night, the stars are incredible.
If you like gardens, Logan Botanical Gardens are worth a trip. For birdwatching, the RSPB reserve at the Mull of Galloway is good in spring and summer. There are local golf courses and fishing if that's your thing.
We have two other cottages on the same steading, Airyhemming Farm and Airyhemming Dairy. You can book them together with Kelbrook if you've got a bigger group, up to 22 people.
