Westwynd is in Dunragit, about five miles east of Stranraer. It's a big, detached house that we had completely refurbished a couple of years ago. It sleeps eighteen people.
There are eight bedrooms and four bathrooms. It's a 5 Star property, which means it's well-equipped and finished to a high standard.
The main thing is the indoor pool. It's heated and has a shower room and a sauna next to it. There's a bar in the conservatory. The kitchen is large and modern, with sliding doors that open right onto the pool area.
The house is set back and quiet. Stranraer is a few miles away. You can walk along the front there, or go to Agnew Park which has a boating lake and a play park.
The coast around here is good. There are sandy beaches and cliff walks. The Southern Upland Way passes nearby if you want a proper walk. For a day out, Portpatrick is a pretty harbour village. The Logan Botanic Garden is worth seeing. You can also drive down to the Mull of Galloway, which is the southernmost point in Scotland. The RSPB has a reserve there.
In terms of facilities, it has everything you'd expect. Wi-Fi, TVs, dishwasher, bedding and towels are all included. There's plenty of parking. We don't allow pets.
