Willow Cottage
This is Willow Cottage, near Stoneykirk in Dumfriesshire. It's a detached bungalow, so there are no stairs at all. It’s good if you can't do steps.
It sleeps six, with three bedrooms and two bathrooms. One bathroom is a proper wet room on the ground floor. It's got a 4 Star rating, which is accurate. It's well-equipped and comfortable. There's a garden with a patio and a barbecue.
It's about a mile from the village of Sandhead, where there's a shop, a pub, and a restaurant. The main thing here is the beach. Sandhead’s beach is a lovely big sandy one, about seven miles long, and it's only a short walk from the cottage.
For walks, you're in a good spot. The Mull of Galloway is Scotland's most southerly point. The views from there are incredible. You can see Ireland on a clear day. Portpatrick is nice for a wander and is the start of the Southern Upland Way, if you're after a long walk.
Stranraer is close by for supermarkets and things. Castle Kennedy Gardens are worth a trip, and Logan Botanic Garden is special if you like plants. The Galloway Forest Park isn't too far either. It's a Dark Sky Park, so the stars at night are something else.
Facilities wise, you've got pretty much everything. Washing machine, dishwasher, WiFi, TV, parking right outside. Bedding and towels are included. There's a cot and highchair if you need them. Sorry, no pets.
