The Hayloft is on our small holding outside Stranraer. It's a single-storey cottage, converted from an old hayloft. It's set back from the road and looks out over fields.
It sleeps four. Two bedrooms, one bathroom with a shower. It was all refurbished a few years ago, so it's clean and everything works. It's a 3 Star place, so it's comfortable but not fancy.
You're right on the edge of open countryside. The start of the Southern Upland Way is very close by, which is good if you're here for walking or cycling. Stranraer is about ten minutes in the car. It's got shops, a leisure centre with a pool, and a harbour. You can get ferries to Ireland from there.
The coast is a big draw here. The pretty village of Portpatrick is only six miles away. If you like gardens, the Gulf Stream means we get some good ones. Logan Botanical Garden is special, and Castle Kennedy has amazing rhododendrons.
The local pub is about a mile away. They do food. There are a few golf courses around too if that's your thing.
For facilities: there's parking right outside, WiFi, a TV, and a washing machine. Bedding and towels are included. We can provide a cot and a highchair. One well-behaved dog is welcome. There's a patio area with seating.
