The Hayloft
The Hayloft is on our small holding just outside Stranraer. It's a two bedroom place for four people, not huge but it's been done up nicely.
It's got a modern inside with most things you'd need. There's one bathroom. Everything's included like bedding and towels. You can bring one dog.
I should mention the stairs. They're a spiral set and they're steep. Little kids and anyone with dodgy knees need to be a bit careful.
There's a garden area outside and parking right by the cottage. It's a quiet spot, just fields around you.
The Southern Upland Way starts about a mile away if you're a walker. You can be on the coast path in ten minutes by car. The beach at Port Patrick is only six miles down the road and it's a nice spot.
Stranraer town is a short drive for shops and things. They've got a swimming pool there. There's a pub about a mile from here that does food.
If you fancy a day trip, you can get the ferry from Cairnryan over to Ireland. It's about a twenty minute drive from the cottage.
The weather's not bad here, thanks to the Gulf Stream. It means we've got some good gardens like Logan Botanical Garden or Castle Kennedy Gardens. They're worth a visit.
