Loch View is a static caravan on the Wig Bay Holiday Park, near the village of Kirkcolm. It's detached and set back a bit from the main road through the park, so it's fairly quiet. You look out over the fields towards Loch Ryan. You can see a good slice of the water from the front windows and the decking.
It sleeps five. Three bedrooms, one bathroom with a shower. It's got a 4 Star rating, which means it's well-equipped and in good condition. Everything works. The living area is open plan, with the kitchen at one end. It's all on one level, so no stairs to worry about.
The decking outside gets the sun in the morning and下午. There's a table and chairs out there. The park itself is family-run. There's an indoor pool, a soft play area for kids, and a bar and restaurant on site. The bar does food.
You're right on the shore of Loch Ryan. Cross the road and you're on the path. You can walk along Wig Bay and around The Scar, which is a sandbank. It's a good spot for birdwatching, especially terns. You might see seals or porpoises in the water. There are reminders of it being a flying boat base in the war if you look around.
Stranraer is about ten minutes' drive for bigger shops. They've got Agnew Park there, which has pedal boats and a playground. For a day out, you're well placed for the Galloway Forest Park, which is about half an hour inland. The Visit South West Scotland site has good information for the area.
Facilities: all bedding and towels are included. There's a TV, WiFi, and parking right next to the caravan. There's a cot if you need it. You can bring up to two dogs. There's an electric vehicle charger on the park, but you might need to check availability.
