Cairncroft Cottage is near Stranraer, in the Rhins of Galloway. It's detached, but right next to our house. The place looks out over Loch Ryan. On a clear day you can see Ailsa Craig and Arran.
It sleeps six. Three bedrooms, two bathrooms. It's got a 4 Star rating. It's been renovated, so it's in good order. The kitchen is a decent size. There's a games room with a pool table. The sitting room has a woodburning stove.
The garden is shared with us, but you're welcome to use it. It's enclosed, so it's alright for dogs. You can bring up to two.
You're about ten minutes' drive from Stranraer for shops, and about the same to Portpatrick. Portpatrick is a nice little harbour village with pubs and places to eat. The cliff walk from there to Dunskey Castle is good.
For a day out, the Mull of Galloway is worth the drive. It's the southernmost point in Scotland. The lighthouse and the views are something else. Logan Botanic Garden is brilliant if you're into that sort of thing.
There's plenty of walking from the door on quiet lanes. The coast path is accessible. For swimming or a proper beach, you'd need to drive a bit.
It's got most things you'd need: dishwasher, washing machine, WiFi, bedding and towels are included. There's parking right outside. We've got a cot, highchair, and stairgate if you need them.
