Coachman

Coachman is one of the old stable cottages at Dunskey, near Portpatrick. It's a Grade II listed building, so it's full of original features like wood panelling and old fireplaces. That does mean it's a proper old building, not a new one. The stairs are quite steep.

It sleeps four. Two bedrooms, two bathrooms. One bedroom has a super king bed, the other has two singles. It's got a 5 Star rating, which means it's well-equipped and finished to a high standard. Everything's included, like bedding and towels. We also provide logs for the woodburning stove.

The kitchen is modern but fitted into the old space. You'll see the original range is still there, though it's not used. The window looks out towards the walled garden. Outside, you've got your own private courtyard with a table and chairs. It's enclosed. There's also a shared walled garden a few steps away you can use.

You're right on the edge of the Dunskey Estate. There's a path through the woods down to the beach. Portpatrick village is about a mile's walk along the coastal path, or a couple of minutes in the car. It's a nice little harbour with a few pubs and places to eat.

For a bigger shop, Stranraer is about ten miles away. The area is good for golf. There's a course at Dunskey, and others nearby. It's also good walking country, especially along the coast. You can get to the Galloway Forest Park, which is a Dark Sky Park, in about half an hour.

You can bring up to two dogs. There's parking right outside. We live on the estate too, so we're around if you need anything or have questions about the area.
