Military Drive No. 7
This is Military Drive No. 7 in Portpatrick. It’s a big, detached house right at the top of the hill, so you get the view over the whole village, the harbour and the sea.
It sleeps ten, has five bedrooms and four bathrooms. The rating is 4 Star. Inside, it’s just very spacious. There's a pool table and a hot tub out the back.
The stairs are fine. The garden is enclosed. You can bring two dogs.
Portpatrick itself is small. Everything's down the hill. The beach is about 200 yards away, and there's a shop, a pub and a restaurant about the same distance.
If you want to walk, the Southern Upland Way passes close by. Good coastal paths too. For golf, there are courses at Stranraer, Portpatrick itself and Lagganmore, all within 20 minutes. You're about 45 minutes from Turnberry if you want to go for that.
Other things nearby: Wigtown is Scotland's book town, with cafes and a gallery. Bladnoch Distillery is a few miles from there. You can get sea fishing from the harbour here, or trout and salmon fishing inland. The ferry to Ireland runs from Stranraer, which is about 15 miles away.
The house has parking, WiFi, a washing machine, a dishwasher, and bedding and towels are included. There's a highchair if you need one.
