Thistle Cottage is a one bedroom cottage in Portpatrick. It's end of terrace. Sleeps two. You get a small patio area and there's parking on site.
It's got a 4 Star rating. The place is clean and modern. The bedroom and bathroom are both on the ground floor. The shower is good, it's not one of those weak ones.
You're a five minute walk from the harbour. There are a couple of pubs right there that do food. The village is small, so everything is close. You can get a boat trip from the harbour if you want.
The main thing here is the walking. The cottage is basically on the Southern Upland Way. You can walk south from the harbour past an old castle, or north towards the lighthouse. The cliff paths are spectacular. Proper coastal scenery.
If you drive, the Mull of Galloway is about 40 minutes. It's Scotland's southernmost point. The lighthouse is there and there's an RSPB nature reserve. The views are incredible on a clear day. Logan Botanic Garden is also worth a visit, it's about half an hour away.
Facilities wise: it has WiFi, a TV, a washing machine, and a dishwasher. Bedding and towels are included. One well-behaved dog is allowed.
