It's called Admirals Anchor. It's a detached house in Portpatrick, up a steep hill from the harbour.
The reason for the name is the view. From the top floor you look straight out over the village rooftops to the sea and the Irish coast. It's the main thing about the place. The living room and kitchen are up there to make the most of it. Big windows, high ceilings with pine beams. You'll spend most of your time looking out.
It sleeps eight. Four bedrooms, two bathrooms. One bedroom has an en-suite shower. Two of the ground floor bedrooms have doors out to the garden. It's a 5 Star place, which means it's well finished and has everything. There's a hot tub in the garden.
Portpatrick is a small harbour village. It has a few shops, a putting green, and places to eat. The cliff walks are good. You can walk south past Dunskey Castle or north towards the lighthouse. The Southern Upland Way starts here.
The village has events through the year, like lifeboat week or music festivals. It's also on the South West Coastal 300 driving route.
For facilities: it's got a dishwasher, WiFi, TV, parking for two cars. Bedding and towels are included. No pets.
