The house is called Admirals Anchor. It's a detached place in Portpatrick, up on the hill a bit. You get the views because of that. You can see right over the village, the harbour, and out to sea towards Ireland.
It sleeps eight people. There are four bedrooms and two bathrooms. One bathroom is an ensuite off the main bedroom. Two of the bedrooms have doors that go straight out to the garden. It's got a 4 Star rating.
The layout is a bit different. The kitchen and the main living area are upstairs. That's so you get the best views while you're cooking or sitting around. The kitchen has a dining area. High ceilings, wooden beams. Then steps go down to a big living room with doors onto a balcony.
Portpatrick is a small harbour village. There are a few shops, a putting green, and you can get boat trips from the harbour. The clifftop walks are good. You can walk one way past Dunskey Castle, or the other way towards Killantringan Lighthouse. That second one is the start of the Southern Upland Way.
The village has events sometimes, like lifeboat week or music festivals. It's also on the South West Coastal 300 driving route.
Facilities: it has a hot tub, which is private. There's a garden and parking. Wifi, TV, dishwasher, washing machine. Bedding and towels are included. No pets. The stairs inside are fine.
If you're looking for other things to do, National Trust for Scotland Galloway has properties and gardens nearby. The Dumfries & Galloway Environmental Resources Centre might be useful for walks and wildlife spots.
