The Old Toll House is on the main road down to the harbour in Portpatrick. It's a bow-fronted, semi-detached cottage - one of a pair. It used to be a toll house a long time ago.
It's just been fully redone inside. Sleeps two, one bedroom downstairs and one bathroom with a good shower. Upstairs is the living room, which has windows on two sides. You can see the sea from them. There's a wood burner for chilly evenings. It's a five star place, so it's comfortable and everything is new.
The harbour and the main strip of pubs and restaurants are maybe a two minute walk away. You can watch the boats from there. On a clear night you can see the lights over in Ireland.
The walking is the main thing here. The Southern Upland Way starts in the village if you're after a long hike. Or you can just follow the cliff path north out of the harbour. It passes Dunskey Castle ruins and some quiet little bays. The whole area is part of the Galloway Forest Park region for driving or walking.
The village gets busy in summer with lifeboat week, music festivals, things like that. It's also on the South West Coastal 300 driving route.
In terms of what's here: there’s a washing machine, dishwasher, WiFi, and parking is on the street outside. It says you can bring one dog. The bedding and towels are included.
