Rose Blair Lodge is on the Dunskey Estate near Portpatrick. It's a one bedroom lodge for two people.
It's detached. You get your own garden and lawn, with a fire pit and picnic space. It's very private. The outdoor bath is in a sheltered spot, screened by hedges.
Inside, it's a 5 Star rating. That means it's high spec and comfortable. There's a wood burning stove, a TV, and WiFi. Bedding and towels are included. The kitchen has a washing machine.
You can bring up to three dogs. There's a cot and highchair if needed.
The location is the main thing. A path starts right outside the gate. It follows a stream through the woods down to Dunskey Glen. It's about a 15 minute walk to two small, private bays. The path is lined with bluebells in spring.
The estate itself is large. You have access to the grounds. There are lochs, waterfalls, beaches, and a walled garden. You can borrow the owner's boats for the loch. They also provide a barbecue kit and a picnic basket.
There's a pub serving food about 800 yards away, back towards the village. Portpatrick harbour is just over a mile. It's a nice walk along the road. The shop is about eight miles away in Stranraer, so you'll want to bring supplies.
The area is good for walking. The Southern Upland Way runs through Portpatrick. There's a golf course nearby. You can drive to the Rhins of Galloway, or over to the Isle of Whithorn, within half an hour.
