Ailsa Craig View is a two bedroom cottage on the edge of Stranraer town centre. You look straight out over Loch Ryan. It sleeps four. There's one bathroom with a shower.
It has one of those open plan layouts with big sliding doors onto a small patio area. That view is the main thing. You can see Ailsa Craig, obviously, and the ferries coming and going from Cairnryan. Inside, it's modern and comfortable. It's a 4 Star place, so it's well fitted out with things like a dishwasher and a washing machine. You get your towels and bedding included.
The location is a bit handy. You're a five minute walk from the shops and pubs in Stranraer, but you don't feel like you're in the middle of town when you're sat looking at the water. There's parking right by the front door.
You can take two dogs. The garden is enclosed but not huge, so it's just for sitting out in rather than running around.
For a proper walk, the Southern Upland Way is just outside town. Portpatrick along the coast is about twenty minutes by car. It's a nice little harbour. The Mull of Galloway, the RSPB reserve down at the very southern tip, is about forty minutes. RSPB Mull of Galloway has all the details on that.
If you're thinking of a day trip to Ireland, the Stena Line ferry goes from Cairnryan, which is only ten minutes up the road. The ferry timetables are on their own website.
