Quarter Acre House is up on the Rhins of Galloway, near Stranraer. It looks out over Loch Ryan. You can see the ferries going across the bay, which is quite nice.
It's a detached house so you've got it to yourselves. There's a garden that's fully enclosed, which is good if you've got dogs. Speaking of which, we do take pets, up to two. There's parking right outside.
It sleeps six in three bedrooms. There are two bathrooms, one of them is a shower room. It's got a 5 Star rating, which means it's well-equipped and comfortable. It's not overly fancy, but it's a solid, good place. There's a woodburning stove for cooler evenings.
The hot tub is private, in the garden. It's there if you want it.
You're about half a mile from the shore at Dally Bay. You can walk down and often see seals. The walking around here is the main thing. You can follow the shoreline around Wig Bay and The Scar, which is a sandbank with a lot of terns. There's evidence of old Catalina boat bases from the war if you look for it.
The nearest shop is about two miles away in Kirkcolm. The village pub and a restaurant are about three miles. For a bigger shop, you'd go into Stranraer, which is three miles.
If you want to explore further, the whole Galloway coast has good beaches. Logan Botanic Garden is worth a trip, it's quite unique. You're also not far from the Galloway Forest Park for proper forest walks.
Inside, it's open plan downstairs. Facilities are all there: WiFi, TV, dishwasher, washing machine. Bedding and towels are included. We've got a highchair if you need one.
It's a quiet spot. You come here for the views and the peace, and to get out walking.
