Quarter Acre House is in Dinduff, near Stranraer. It’s a detached house on about a quarter of an acre, hence the name. The views are good. You can see over the fields to Loch Ryan. The ferry to Belfast goes past, which is quite interesting to watch.
It sleeps six, in three bedrooms. There are two bathrooms so you won’t queue. It's got a 5 Star rating, which means everything is in good order and it's well looked after. It's warm and dry. The living area is open plan.
The garden is enclosed. There’s a private hot tub out there. It’s a good spot for it, looking out over the fields. There’s parking for a couple of cars on the drive.
You’re about half a mile from the shore at Loch Ryan. It's not a sandy beach there, more pebbles and rock. You can walk down. Dally Bay is close by for spotting seals. For a proper sandy beach, you'd drive to the west coast of the Rhins.
The local shop is about two miles away in Kirkcolm. The nearest pub and restaurant are about three miles, in the same direction. Stranraer is three miles the other way for bigger shops.
If you like walking, you can walk from the house down to Wig Bay and The Scar. It's a circular route. The Scar is a sandbank with a lot of terns in season. There’s history there too, from the war. For other walks, the Southern Upland Way starts nearby.
This area is quiet. It’s good for birdwatching, golf, fishing, or just being by the coast. Logan Botanic Garden is worth a visit if the weather's good, it's about a forty minute drive. You can also get the ferry from Stranraer to Belfast for a day trip if you fancied it.
The house has the usual things: wifi, TV, washing machine, dishwasher. There’s a wood burner for cooler evenings. You can bring up to two dogs. We include bedding and towels. There’s a highchair if you need one.
