The Potting Shed
The Potting Shed is a bungalow on our farm just outside Wierston. Everything's on one floor, which is good if stairs are tricky. There's a wet room with a walk-in bath and a seat. One of the single beds can be adjusted if you need that.
It's detached. You've got your own deck out the back with a table and chairs. It looks over the garden and fields. We're a working farm, so you'll see sheep and sometimes tractors about.
It sleeps four in two bedrooms. It's got the 4 Star rating, so it's well equipped. There's a washing machine, WiFi, and the bedding and towels are included. You can bring one dog. There's a games room in an outbuilding with a pool table.
The place is quite rural. The nearest shop is about four miles away. There's a pub that does meals just over five miles away. The coast is about two miles drive. Dally Bay is the closest beach, it's sandy and you might see dolphins.
For a day out, Portpatrick is a nice harbour village with places to eat. Stranraer is about eight miles for bigger shops. If you like gardens, Logan Botanical Garden is really worth it. You can get ferries to Ireland from Cairnryan.
There's plenty to do locally: walking on the Southern Upland Way, golf, fishing. You can hire bikes. The Visit South West Scotland site has good information for planning trips.
