Kirklauchline Cottage is near Cairngarroch, on the Rhins of Galloway. It's a detached old crofter's cottage, so it's stone built and solid. The views are the main thing. You get sea views from the front garden and the decking.
It sleeps four. Two bedrooms upstairs, one bathroom downstairs. It's got a 4 Star rating. Everything's there. It's been modernised inside. The living area is open plan and has two wood burners. It's a good space if the weather turns.
You're up a single track lane, so it's quiet. The garden is enclosed, which is handy if you're bringing a dog. You can bring one dog.
The nearest place with things is Portpatrick, about three miles away. It's a small harbour village. There's a shop, pubs, places to eat. You can walk the coastal path from there. The views from the cliffs are very good.
If you're here to be outside, there's a lot to do. The coastal path is right there. There's sea fishing. Several golf courses are nearby. The RSPB Mull of Galloway reserve is about a 20 minute drive south. Logan Botanical Garden is maybe 15 minutes away.
For a bigger beach, you'd drive to Sandhead or further up the coast. That's about six miles.
The facilities list covers it. Washing machine, towels included, parking on site. WiFi works fine. There's a TV.
If you're planning walks, the Southern Upland Way starts at Portpatrick. The Visit South West Scotland site has more on the local area.
